Marie Madeleine — Pill Review

Why are we so quick to judge someone else's life, especially when religion is involved?

Set in Haiti, Marie Madeleine brings together two seemingly different worlds: a sex worker and a young man raised in a religious environment.

What I found interesting is how the film explores the contradictions between faith, morality and the way we treat others. Religion teaches compassion, forgiveness and love, yet society often seems more interested in judging people than understanding them.

And perhaps that's the most interesting part of the story. Can we really define someone's worth through their choices? And who gets to decide what makes someone a good person?

Marie Madeleine offers an interesting reflection on prejudice, human connection and the difference between what we believe and how we actually behave.

Special thanks to the team for providing the screener.
